Grenelle 2 : key decisions from the French government and consequences for the wind turbine sector

The examination of the Grenelle 2 bill on saturday morning by the French deputies shows that the wind turbine sector is undergoing four major changes :

  1. The drop in the minimum total power for the new establishments of wind farm. The minimum total power was previously of 15MW.
  2. The 5 towers per wind farm to avoid the excessive proliferation of windmills was confirmed.
  3. The classified installation regime to protect the environment will be applied to windmills.
  4. Windmills will have to be 50 meters away from the first houses.
